Honor decided to start the year strong, confirming the launch date of its first foldable smartphone.
The Honor Magic V will be launched on January 10 at 11.30 AM UTC in China. The event will be available to stream online, and we'll make sure to share that with you once the time comes.
The foldable phone will similarly fold horizontally, similarly to the Galazy Z Fold3. We can see from the promo image that the cover display will come with a punch-hole for the selfie camera, while the main camera setup on the back will feature three units. There’s also a dual-LED flash and some light and PDAF sensors.
The Honor Magic V was officially confirmed to be the first foldable with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, making it the first true flagship of 2022 for the independent brand as well. Rumors also suggested 66W fast charging and Android 12 out of the box. Honor is not going to say a word about GMS, since the event is in China, but if the Magic V makes it to global markets, it will undoubtedly support Google Services.
